As a follow-up to their presentation at the HCN Centers Gathering at Hollyhock last month, Retreat Guru have released findings from the 2019 Tech Stack Survey. The report identifies commonly used software in key categories and highlights user satisfaction levels. If you are looking for a new app, learn which are popular. If you are already tech-deep, compare your stack with others. You might be surprised by some of their findings.
The survey was inspired by one of our popular webinars Transformation in Technology: An Esalen Case Study, hosted by CEO and General Manager Terence Gilbey in January. You can read more via the posts below.

Like a number of centers, Esalen was started before we had the internet and when computers were the size of small cars. Before the age of the “app”, software was custom written and was designed to work the way the business was run. There was no best practice or an existing model for Esalen so the software grew organically as the center learned how to grow and operate.
Over the last decade or so a vast number of software applications have been developed and there’s a dizzying choice on offer to streamline business practices. How do you decide which ones to implement in your center so that you can focus your energy on serving the vision and mission? This report is a great start:
