Inspiration from the Gathering in Greece

May 19, 2015 by Christine Lines 2 Comments

I came to listen and it’s been an exquisite connection with so many people. I’ll share from that space with my center, the gift of being here. The ways we connected were beyond my logical brain, I got things I hadn’t anticipated and feel very blessed. I definitely support our planetary family of transformational centers!

I appreciate the wisdom and support I’ve received from so many people, specifically help with reframing issues. I now have practical ways to go back and tackle some of the recurring problems. I feel incredibly nourished by this land, the presence of the nature spirits. I feel full of appreciation, hope and connection, nature was really supporting us this week too.

Miracles happen at Holistic Centers

April 12, 2015 by Christine Lines Leave a Comment

GamePeopleMiracles mean different things to different people but the miraculous always connects us with the divine, spirit or our Higher Self. Words don’t matter and can’t describe the event accurately, however, something deep and profound happens inside.

They can happen anywhere and Holistic Centers could be seen as places where openness to miracles is part of the energy of the Center. When Spirit is invited to be present miracles are not far away.

I wonder if those of us who work in Holistic Centers are choosing miracles in our own lives and by doing so, modelling to all who come that they can do the same? Imagine choosing to connect with Spirit in every moment and knowing what to do and say. And imagine who we would attract to join us! [Read more…]

A Journey into the Light: The Mythic Landscape of Greece

February 28, 2015 by Christine Lines Leave a Comment

Beach Papa Nero and Damouchari

After the Holistic Centers Gathering in Greece last year and creating this option, it’s now available again. Enjoy a guided tour of the Pelion, before we journey to Athens via the sacred sites of Delphi and Mount Parnassus. The five day tour will connect with onward flights from Athens on the last evening.

This way you can extend your stay at the beautiful Damouchari hotel (where scenes from the film Mamma Mia were filmed) and explore the Mount Pelion area more intimately. We invite you to make the most of your visit to Greece.

Your guide, Adam Reising, is a Director of the Kalikalos Holistic Centre, and a co-host of the Centers Gathering in Greece. He holds an MA in History and Philosophy from Cambridge University, and is thrilled to be able to share his knowledge of Pelion and Greece with the participants coming to the gathering. He will also lead afternoon excursions during the Gathering for those interested. [Read more…]

What makes the Gathering in Greece so unique?

February 25, 2015 by Christine Lines Leave a Comment

PelionLast month the Greek people decisively voted into power the anti-austerity Syriza party. Greece is once more in the global spotlight. At the Centres Gathering in Pelion, we are extremely fortunate in being able to present a number of passionate, sharp, intelligent and fun guest speakers, who will demonstrate what we can learn from Greece today. And Greece’s present may well be everyone’s
future! This makes the Gathering in Greece unique, and a real learning opportunity for participants.

Jen Hinton from the Post Growth Institute in Athens will provide an overview of the complexities of the Greek situation with a number of interactive tools, such as the “Greek Debt Crisis” game that she
co-developed. This zooms out from the Greek situation to the systemic issues involved, framing the crisis in a more global, holistic perspective. [Read more…]

2015 Gathering, Mount Pelion Peninsula, Greece

January 21, 2015 by Christine Lines 9 Comments

DSC00434We’re delighted to welcome you to the next Holistic Centers Gathering, in Greece from May 10-15, 2015. Hosted by the Kalikalos Pelion Holistic Network and Alchemy Associates, the venue is the beautiful Mount Pelion peninsula, in the charming hamlet of Damouchari.

The venue is the Damouchari Hotel because Kalikalos Retreat Centre runs only from May-September as it’s located in the mountains where it gets cold and snowy. During the May work camp we unpack everything and rebuild the yurts and roundhouses for the centre’s workshop accommodation. There are also two other centres in the Pelion Holistic Network which will do the same and we’re co-ordinating with them to share how things are done here.

IMG_2919The hotel is also more comfortable and conveniently situated for the Gathering. We’ve developed a good working relationship with the owner, Apostolis, over the years and are very grateful he’s agreed to host us. This is the hotel where Mamma Mia scenes were filmed so there are photos of Meryl Streep having a whale of a time with the staff!

The Kalikalos website has been updated with this season’s programme and is a good source of travel info about how to reach the Pelion Peninsula from all over the world. The best way is to fly into Athens and travel by bus to Volos and then another bus to a seaside resort town called Agios Ioannis which is very near Damouchari, or share a taxi with three others, which is much quicker. You could also fly in to Thessaloniki and do the same.

The cost of the Gathering is 500 euros all inclusive, except for your travel arrangements, based on twin share accommodation and full payment is due upon arrival. If you would prefer single accommodation there is an additional payment of 100 euros.

10432954_10204158704713640_93581191693250662_nDorota will be arriving in Athens at 13.30 on Sunday 10th May and can co-ordinate with others arriving at the same time, then we will all meet for a welcome meal that Sunday evening in Damouchari.

We might also be able to arrange a pick up service in Athens, for people arriving on other flights, for an additional contribution. It will probably be much easier for not much more expense, to travel direct from door to door. Please advise your flight details when you book your place so we can co-ordinate arrangements.

The Gathering will end at lunchtime on Friday 15th May. After the Gathering we’re planning to offer follow-on workshops and/or trips around sacred sites on Greece for those who have some more days to spare. You’re welcome to extend your stay and enjoy the various options available. Dorota is departing from Athens 17th May at 13:55 and again transfers can be co-ordinated if you’re flying at a similar time. Christine will be extending for an extra week.

We’ve been asked about families wishing to come – we think this is a great idea as there’s plenty for kids to do with an adult supervising them, and it could turn into a wonderful family holiday!

Beach Plaka BlueTo read more about the area, please click here to read a Kalikalos blog post by Adam Reising, who will be guiding excursions around the local area during the free time of the Gathering.

As well as the excitement of guided hiking, rambling, and sea kayaking trips, you might wish to relax by some of the most beautiful and cleanest beaches in the Mediterranean, right on our doorstep!

Click the play button to enjoy to a great video from Carmen Klammer that offers a flavour of Kalikalos.

Please don’t hesitate to contact the team if you have any other questions. To register your interest complete the online form here and we’ll be in touch with more details.

If you’d like to extend your stay we recommend A Journey into the Light a five day tour exploring the mythic landscape of Greece, led by Adam Reising, a Director of the Kalikalos Holistic Centre, and a co-host of the Centers Gathering in Greece. He holds an MA in History and Philosophy from Cambridge University, and is thrilled to be able to share his knowledge of Pelion and Greece with you.

We look forward to welcoming you to the Gathering!

Warm wishes,

Dorota Owen, Christine Lines and Adam Reising

This gathering has been INCREDIBLE. As a small center based way out in Yosemite National Park, I really feel folded into the greater network. This feels so vital. Thank you for creating this!
