Background:
European Day of Sustainable Communities will be hosted for the third consecutive year in 2019. The European network called ECOLISE has organized coordination, funding, and website listing participating events. Last year in Europe, communities in 24 countries joined the celebration by organizing over 100 events. The momentum is continuing to grow!
Foundation for Intentional Communties (FIC) aim to launch the first North American Day of Sustainable Communities this year. A small amount of seed funding has been secured from GENNA Alliance, enough to coordinate preliminary activity and gain traction for future years. We will be coordinating with European organizers to help launch the Day.
