With the rollout of vaccinations taking place around the world and people in different stages of lockdown, the opportunities for centers to re-open for in person guest programs varies vastly. This week’s webinar helps navigate the many considerations involved for both participants and staff. Come together as we explore the practical to the emotional. From being mostly at home it can be disorientating for staff to go back to work or for participants to attend a gathering again. We all need to feel safe and prepare ourselves for the long haul.

A few reflective questions to consider in advance
- How do you hold your ‘coming back together again’ meetings?
- What’s really cost effective for your center?
- Is it worth the investment to trial run small groups?
- How can you tap into the range of supportive resources?
- What are your center’s new guidelines for staff and participants?
- How to cross train staff for a leaner, more agile operating model?
Overview
In recent conversation, I appreciated Saralyn’s reassuring confidence around the many dimensions of re-opening from people care, facility care, even pet care (as they might feel anxious when their people are no longer around as much). Early on she asked her Board of Directors, ‘What do you want from this right now?’ They replied, ‘Try to hold a few retreats while we slowly return. Try to break even and not lose more than we are already.’
Saralyn combined this approach with maintaining an uplifting energy communicating, ‘We’re here, re-opening, moving forward. When you’re ready, we’re ready.’ It wasn’t easy to hold and she has a wealth of experience to share. Bring your reflections and questions. We look forward to once again learning from each other as we re-imagine the future and recalibrate through each and every transition.
