We’ve been exploring the resilience of centers in different ways over recent webinars; from pricing analysis of programming, to co-creating a care first world, and keeping an eye on the horizon and the bottom line in preparing to re-open.
There’s growing interest in financial literacy and the link with leadership and we’re delighted to welcome back Karen McAllister. Karen holds the unique position of being a founding member of Clear Sky Retreat Center, responsible for fund development, a Mindful Money coach and spiritual teacher.
Mentored by Lynne Twist, global activist, fundraiser extraordinaire and author of the Soul of Money, and Deborah Price, founder of the Money Coaching Institute, Karen brings a lived experience of how this work can transform the culture of a holistic center. She offers money coaching internationally and will share real life examples of different behaviours that show up around leadership and money.
Discover tools that can help you understand what’s happening when you’re in a money conversation and find more harmony to name and work through the emotional tension.

Theme: Inner Leadership and our Consciousness of Money
Hosted by: Karen McAllister, Chair of Clear Sky Retreat Center
Duration: 90 mins
Overview
Being a good leader is about deep inner work; looking at our strengths and areas of development and filling in the gaps. We need to expand our range so that we can continually meet the different people in our organisations in their phases of development.
Karen describes turning inward to explore our relationship with reciprocity, generosity, collaboration, flexibility and resilience. This can reflect our relationship with money and open a pathway to experiencing these values more fully, helping our centers to thrive.
Reflective Questions
- What conscious agreements have been made around generosity within your family of origin that get played out in your center and team?
- What behaviours are creating problems in your leadership style where finance is concerned?
- What specific financial issues are you experiencing in your work and personal life?
- What is the main issue that comes up for you in money conversations within your center?
If you find yourself discussing revenue, cash flow and business plans, if you notice people feeling powerless in money conversations, whether you’re a team leader or the center leader, or just curious about resilience we invite you to join us. The discussion links into the theme of our Virtual Gathering 3-6 May – emerging resilience – and we look forward to connecting ever more deeply.
