Webinar: Common Foundations of Impact Measurement

April 6, 2021 by Christine Lines Leave a Comment

Members of the network have expressed interest in social impact strategies, evaluation, and reporting and this is an area HCN is passionate about. This weeks webinar flows into two sessions offered during the annual Virtual Gathering of Holistic Centers. Each session has been designed to provide an accessible introduction as well as sharing leading practices in impact measurement and performance monitoring for social purpose organizations.

The first Junxion webinar below is a standalone offering. The second and third webinars will be included in the agenda for the 2021 Centers Gathering. While the three sessions have distinct content, they’re thematically connected and will use consistent language. We invite you to attend all three.

Date: Wed 7 Apr
Time 9am PST
Theme: Common Foundations of Impact Measurement
Hosted by: Mike Rowlands, CEO of Junxion and Chair of Hollyhock and Garth Yule, Lead practitioner on Impact Evaluation, Junxion
Duration: 90 mins

Description

Say goodbye to giant, unwieldy and one-off impact reporting projects! Stop stretching whatever data you have at hand to fill charts and tables that fall short of telling the story of impact you really want to share! Join our slightly wild-eyed, impact obsessed friends at Junxion Strategy to learn the five essential practices of impact measurement.

As Center leaders, you can take control of the data you collect and how you communicate the value of your organization, showcasing your progress to colleagues, funders, and community stakeholders. While it might seem complicated to do, there is a clear, proven, step-by-step process you can follow—the Common Approach to Impact Measurement.

During this webinar, you’ll learn how to use some simple tools from the Demonstrating Value workbooks to cover the essential practices for effective impact measurement.

  • Start an Information Map of goals, indicators, and data sources as a first step to a comprehensive evaluation plan.
  • Start a Data Development Plan that sets realistic priorities for data collection, management and analysis.
  • Start a Performance Snapshot to display key data points.

About the Session

Mike posed a great question :
How are we to know we’re being successful in our mission?
During the presentation Garth shared practical steps we can take to show our impact…

We might all be familiar with the approach below.
Be guided through the exercise that helps us become more explicit.

Feedback

Great session, especially how implementation-ready the tools are.

This is wonderful thanks. A wealth of resources I’ll digest more and add to our toolbox. Appreciate the sharing.

This gathering has been INCREDIBLE. As a small center based way out in Yosemite National Park, I really feel folded into the greater network. This feels so vital. Thank you for creating this!
