As we are starting out on the second year in a world impacted by covid restrictions, our friends and partners the Global Ecovillage Network (GEN) are passionate to showcase the powerful work of ecovillages around the planet who have been pioneering a large variety of regenerative ways of living together and with nature.
Because the work all of us do is best done together, and because so many people are aching for better ways of living we invite you to join the upcoming GEN Ecovillage Summit – Living Solutions for a Regenerative World. Join 35 ecovillages and speakers for seven days of connection and hope.
The Ecovillage Summit will showcase how:
- ecovillages contribute to the mitigation of climate crisis in the face of multiple crises
- ecovillages function as resilient communities of practice that work towards earth restoration, economic revival, social regeneration and cultural celebration
- individuals and the collective with tools and practises that can be widely and easily adapted and shared
- empowered action and strengthened local resilience through learning, inspiration and direct exchange to build an online movement of ecovillages, community-led initiatives and citizens
Building on GEN’s Map of Regeneration, the seven days of the Summit will be focused on Culture, Social, Economy, Ecology, and Integral Design. Each day will be dedicated to one of the Areas of Regeneration and presenting ecovillages and renowned speakers from all over the world and diverse spheres of action. Explore how to build more community and lasting resilience in the face of climate change.
Together with ecovillages/communities from GEN’s five regions and internationally renowned speakers like Charles Eisenstein, Satish Kumar, Karen Downes and Marilyn Hamilton go on an exploration of sociocultural transformation and responses and solutions steeped in co-creativity, togetherness, integration and celebration of each other and our environment.
2021 will be focusing on linking people into empowered action and strengthening local resilience and impact through learning, inspiration and direct exchange to build an online movement of ecovillages, community-led initiatives and citizens. The Online Summit will form the start of this programme followed by a series of online events such as workshops, regional gatherings and scaling up of online tools.
30 ecovillages and 20 speakers have recorded conversations which will go live over the 7 days. Each video will be accessible for 36h, and then at the end of the Summit, GEN will offer a package of all the videos for purchase to be viewed at any time.
